Transition to High School

The transition to high school from primary is a pivotal point in a young person's life - research has identified this as a 'Danger Zone' for young people at-risk. MYST via funding from the Better Futures program has for the last 4 years been facilitating a transition support program for young people at North Katoomba Public.

This year MYST, in collaboration with Katoomba High, Katoomba North Public and BMCC are enhancing their transition support program with a community art exhibition, which involves year 6 students from Katoomba North Public and year 7 students from Katoomba High.

Art works are on display at the Event Horizon Galley, Bathurst Rd Katoomba until 6 Oct.

Parenting Teenagers

Parenting Teenagers, a six weeks course (from 10am to 12 noon) starting on Tuesday 8th of September 2009 at the Uniting Church Hall, 70 Old Bathurst Rd. BLAXLAND 2777. Cost is $60. Bookings essential, phone 4739-5963 stating your name, phone number & the name of the course.

Coping with Bullying

Coping with Bullying, a six weeks course (from 10am to 12 noon) helping parents develop their skills in supporting their children cope with school, family & external pressures. It starts on Thursday 6th August 2009, at Winmalee Neighbourhood Centre, 62 Whitecross Rd Winmalee. Cost is $60.
